Illustration Friday: Song, Part 2

Well, it takes a little more time to come up with some stuff. This is a linoleum block print I did specifically for the Illustration Friday "song" theme. It is a print, with collage and acrylic added. I used my son to pose playing his guitar on the front porch steps for this piece. I am fortunate to have such good-natured children who will model for me on a regular basis. They are a blessing in my life. You can catch the eBay auction on this piece here. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7392998172 The auction doesn't start until 8:45 pm tonight [Wednesday], so before that time you won't be able to click through. Thanks for stopping by, and comments are always appreciated. *

I have just recently experimented with my firsts linoleum cuts and woodcuts. Even though these are dying (or dead?) mediums, it's good to see some fresh work that didn't come out of the '30's. It's good work!

This is great work. Yes, kids who pose for their parents are a blessing. First time visiting your site. I like the 'dirge' lady and the 'Rainy days...' linoleum cut also.

The colors in this guitar piece are wonderful. And I really like the pose of your son; intent on his playing with legs akimbo (I believe that's the first time I've ever used that word in a sentence... is that the right usage?).

Akimbo! Yes! Wouldn't that make an interesting Illustration Friday theme?

I like this very much. Very effective. You've caught his concentration very well and that isolation people have when they go into their own music world.
