Illustration Friday: Feet

As always, I gave a considerable moment's thought to this week's theme before diving in. This week's models are my children, one of whom is black, and the other white. While I think diversity is a great thing in families, pets, and your choice of mustard, I know not everyone feels that way. You may make any kind of comment you like. But just for fun, when you post your comments, be sure to include your favorite mustard. This piece is on auction on eBay at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7400704650 should you be inclined to give it a good home. Boar's Head All Natural Honey Mustard with Pure Golden Honey. http://www.cafepress.com/ottoblotto?pid=8246890

Wonderful illo. Great detail.
I buy just plain old yellow mustard. Which every kind is on sale. I only use it on tofu-pups though.
love

Yes i deleted it, made a boo boo in spelling, not the first time.

Beautiful feet, narrative neat and never met a mustard I didn't eat. although i'm partial to good old garden variety yellow mustard.

It's the ties that bind (apologies). Top stuff. As is Hot English Mustard.

Wonderful piece - I like the thought behind it and I like the representation of the thought. Mustard? My taste is fairly prosaic - I grab a big jar of grey poupon french country mustard off the shelf at the grocery store. It tastes pretty good to me:>

Good Morning:

Showing my Montreal roots, sign me up for Moutarde a l'Ancienne, old style mustard, the kind with all the seeds. There was a time when I thought that world's most perfect lunch was dark rye with a coarse country pate topped with that moutarde, which was sold in a ceramic jar. Complete satisfaction!
Oh... the days of my youth.

Turning now to your sweet - in the absolute best sense of the word drawing- I can only say that if I had made it I could not dream of parting with it.

Regards, Neil

while the illo is great the theme is even better.

gulden's mustard is my favorite!

Neil, the drawing is just a vague moment, the experience of which I enjoyed. But what need have I for a drawing when I wake every day to two wonderful children? I could always redraw their feet, but I could never replace them.

I love the coarse mustards as well. They make something ordinary seem like an incredible feast!

Absolutely beautiful. so happy I stopped by! Fine and nice strokes and the models the most precious ting of all.

My favorite mustard is Dijon from France!

Beautiful drawing - and a beautiful thought behind.

Of mustards I eat Arfmann's - and the french, yellow one.

Otto, i am a big fan, and I have only looked at this post. I admire your position about diversity and think the world would be better if more people were more like you. And a much more important question is what kind of corny dog you are putting mustard on. My suggestion, one of them bad boys stuffed with cheese and jalepenos at the Texas State Fair. Carry on, dear Otto, change the world.
