Illustration Friday: Tattoo
The choice of themes this week is particularly unfortunate, as no one in my immediate family has a tattoo. Not that I have anything against them, but they were never really my thing. I have this horrible notion that many years from now, when I am in the nursing home, there will be all these people with totally unrecognizable blobs that were previously rather nice tattoos. I might be wrong. Still, I somehow don't think that giant mermaid will look so cool when I'm 85.
That I should live so long.
The model is, again, my long-suffering husband, with the amputated pinkie and the tape with "temporary tattoo" written by my son. I skipped the string this time to avoid the "tie-me-up" comments. Not that I mind them. And the piece is on auction at eBay at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7398599497 should you feel so inclined as to purchase it.

Nice.
You really know how to catch the eye and make a statement! And your husband is quite the good sport:> Now, about tattoos and aging...you just put it in a sag free zone...it should be recognizable around the canasta table at the nursing home;>
I have no sag free zones.
great drawing!
A kind of tattoo I would prefer! Funny - and a nice illo too, great!
Lovely rendering as per usual....says he trying very hard to not say something that involves "tie me up" sentiment.
wonderful drawing! yes I was always somewhat concerned about the nursing home scenario too...
i really like the detail and simplicity (can you have both???) of this - not to mention, very clever!
Nice drawing!
Love it!! Your husband is so nice to pose for you - I hope the next theme isn't dresses... lol :D
Otto, thanks for your comments on my blog. I love you pencil drawings, they are superb. I'm looking forward to seeing this weeks picture.
Cool. Your pencil work is exceptional, as always. At least a mermaid tattoo will still make sense years and years from now. I pity the people with Spongebob tattoos. You know there are at least a couple.
